Our innovative and industry leading service of online encrypted filesystems is built with a standards-based methodology on our usage of technology in an architecture-independent environment. What does this mean for you? Simply put, SwissDisk will work with almost any operating system and browser you choose to use it with.

Below is a list of minimal system requirements and recommended hardware and software for various desktop and mobile computing platforms. If you have any questions or require additional information, please contact our Customer Support Center.

HTML Browser Support

Handheld Support: There are countless combinations of handheld operating systems, browsers and supporting software to access and edit documents on your encrypted storage with SwissDisk. Our service will work with any handheld that that has internet access, however, certain browsers and document readers work better than others. We highly suggest those that utilize standard implementations of SSL, HTTPS and CCS. To date these include, the Palm, Symbian and Windows 2003 Mobile Operating systems. We also recommend utilizing Handango, palmSource, and palmOne for reviewing and downloading additional software and/or browsers. Please note that much of the software listed comes already pre-installed with your handheld device.

Desktop Support: Many of these browsers are available for multiple operating systems. All work exceptionally well with SwissDisk and our web-interface on both desktop and laptop computers.

  • Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, and 2003 Server and Mobile
  • Pentium processor or better
  • 64MB of RAM or more
  • Internet connection: modem (at least 28.8k) or
    broad band connection (cable, DSL, etc.) suggested

Windows with WebDrive:

Mac OS X with built-in WebDAV support

  • Mac OS X 10.1 or better
  • 500Mhz G3 or better
  • 64MB of RAM or more
  • Internet connection: modem (at least 28.8k) or
    broad band connection (cable, DSL, etc.) suggested
  • SSL Enabler (read our How To Article for details)
  • At least 10MB of free disk space for SSL Enabler

Mac OS using Goliath

Linux Operating Systems

  • Suggested method is using KDE 3 or newer, which is
    supported by most recently released distributions. For
    KDE, simply open the File Explorer, and use webdavs://
    instead of https:// when accessing your SwissDisk
    storage space. Check:

    for most distributions.
