What is WebDAV?
WebDAV stands for "Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning".
WebDAV is a set of software extensions used with the HTTP and/or HTTPS protocols.

So WHY do I need to DOWNLOAD a WebDAV app/client for SwissDisk?
Simply put, because it's easier to use a "Desktop" type interface with icons you can click on, drop down menus to choose from.
For example, the software for your calendar is written to work with the webDAV protocols. However you would have to type in one line at a time if you connect directly to a webDAV server. This works but it's not fun, not very pretty and certainly not fast.
